Back from my 17 days trip to Europe not long ago and decided to start blogging while memory is still fresh! The planning started about slightly less than a year ago when we booked a good deal on SIA flight.
Below is a summary of my trip outline, travelled in that order:
2 nites stay in London, UK
4 nites stay in Reykjavik, Iceland ( pronounced as rek-kya-vick)
1 nite stay onboard ferry bound from Helsinki to Tallinn, Estonia
1 nite stay in Tallinn, Estonia
1 nite stay in Helsinki, Finland
2 nites stay in Rovaniemi, Finland
1 nite stay in Helsinki, Finland
2 nites stay in Paris
London
We booked a apartment for 4 via Hotel Megaro (this is different from the family room in Hotel Megaro, it is located in a separate building, booking however, comes under Hotel Megaro). The checking in is done at Hotel Megaro and staff will then show you to the apartment which is less than 5 mins away.
Hotel Megaro is located on the opposite road of Kings Cross Underground (St Pancras station), easily spotted with its colorful exterior.
This is the exterior of our apartment block, there is a huge play area and park (Camden Park) just outside the block.
The apartment is located 1 floor down, so some muscles are needed if you are hoisting around huge luggages! The staff was kind enough to help us with it.
Entrance into the apartment leads you first into the kitchen and living area where the sofa bed is set up for 2 person. Further in is a bedroom with a double bed. Its an open concept toilet but there are doors to keep it shut out if privacy is needed. A huge window which looks out to the upper floor unit bathroom window, no scenary. Free complimentary coffee capsules, nice gestures!
The location is ideal as Kings Cross station is an interchange for most lines. Within the station, you could find many cafes and supermarkets. McDonalds, Nandos, Chinese food are all within proximity.
From Heathrow, we took the blue line (Piccadilly) and drop at Kings Cross station, its a direct line, no change of station needed.
Buying a Oyster card with top up value would be a wise choice as you get refunded on any balance value at the airport (remember! refund has to be done at the underground window right outside the control station when you reach the airport on your return trip, once you step out of the station, there is no turning back to refund the card!)
